HIGHWORTH council meetings will be held in a different order from now on to increase their efficiency.
Until now, a full council meeting was held on one night, then the meetings for all three committees would be held consecutively on another night.
Councillors decided that this was not the best way of doing things and thought of a change to the scheduling which they felt would improve matters.
They thought that by the time the Planning and GP&F meetings were finished, the Leisure committee meeting was, unfairly, hurried through as it was getting rather late in the evening.
A resolution to split the meetings up more evenly. was made during the annual assembly
The planning and full council meeting will now be held on the same night, with the planning meeting first so residents with planning applications under consideration don't have to sit through a full council meeting before they get a chance to speak.
The meetings for the General Purpose and Finance committee and Leisure committee will be held together on a different night.
The first planning/full council meeting of the financial year will be held in the council's chambers tonight from 7pm.
The next GP&F and Leisure committee meetings will be held on June 5, then another full council meeting on June 19.
