MORE than 200 people attended a prostate cancer screening event held by the Loganberry Trust.

The Swindon-based charity was set up by Kevin Logan from Priory Vale before he lost his battle with the illness.

The charity has held around 400 screenings since it was set up and roughly 10 per cent of patients showed signs of prostate cancer and were subsequently referred to their doctor.

At its most recent screening event in Chippenham, 202 tests were carried out.

The blood test checks for a protein produced in prostate cells.

The next one will be held at the Masonic Hall in Warminster on June 9 from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
