COURT: Magistrates banned James Buckley from the roads for 14 months after he pleaded guilty to being over the alcohol limit when he was drove a Ford Mondeo in Fairfield, Royal Wootton Bassett on March 24.

Buckley, 68, of Briars Close was breathy tested and gave a reading of 52 microgrammes of alcohol when the limit is 35mg.

He was fined £87 by the Swindon bench and ordered to pay £30 towards victim services.

COURT: Alexandru Iliescu was ordered by Swindon magistrates to pay a total of £370 after he admitted a charge of using threatening behaviour. The defendant, 29, of Cross Street, was fined £255 with £115 victim surcharge and prosecution costs.

COURT: A driver was fined £390 and disqualified for 17 months when he appeared before Swindon magistrates.

Mark Lewis, 55, of Bosworth Road, Grange Park was breathalysed by police after he drove a Vauxhall Vectra in his street on March 23 and gave a reading of 61 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

He was also told to pay £30 towards victim services and £85 court costs.

COURT: Stealing three bottles of aftershave valued at £93 from Boots cost Lee Sparks a £40 fine. The 37-year-old of Wigmore Place, Chiseldon, admitted the theft when he appeared before Swindon magistrates. He was ordered to pay £30 towards victim services and the court heard the aftershave had been recovered.
