Singer/songwriter Henry Priestman is one of the hidden gems of the music business. He is a musician's musician who has worked with some of the top names in the business.

Co-incidently, as The Christians recently played in Swindon, Henry, who was a former songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist for the rock band, is heading for Cricklade.

He is coming with singer/songwriter Les Glover with whom he collaborated on his latest album called Six Of One And Half A Dozen Of The Other.

Henry also played with Paul McCartney along with the rest of The Christians, Gerry Marsden, and Frankie Goes To Hollywood on the 1989 number one charity single, Ferry Cross the Mersey.

He is a well respected session musician playing for bands such as the Lightning Seeds, Johnny Marr, Ian McCulloch, Pete Wylie, Ian McNabb and Echo and the Bunnymen.

He wrote the title track for the West End musical Dreamboats and Petticoats and began his career with a rock band called Yachts in the 1970s.

It took until 2009 for Henry to see himself as a front man and record his debut solo CD, The Chronicles of Modern Life, and in 2014 he released The Last Mad Surge of Youth.

Les Glover has played with Graham Gouldman from 10CC, JJ Gilmour, Lotte Mullan, Gary Barlow, Nick Harper and Wreckless Eric.

Henry and Les will be appearing Live at The Old Stables for an acoustic night on Thursday, May 17. Tickets to the Old Stables, behind the White Heart Hotel, Cricklade, are £12 from www.facebook.com/theoldstablesclub - Flicky Harrison
