A SWINDON event planning company has won a major contract with town car manufacturer Honda.

Venues and Events International, based in Lotmead Business Park, will be planning the annual innovation expo for the motoring firm.

Steve Schwartz, account director for the events company, said; “We’re delighted to be working with Honda and to support it in delivering such an important event for the company.

“We believe the synergies between the two companies means our personalised approach and attention to detail will ensure Honda successfully meets its objectives and that delegates will leave the event inspired and energised.”

To land the contract, Honda set a challenge for five companies to see who would pitch the best idea. It had to include building a marquee and catering for 600 guests for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Honda said it felt Venues and Events International would work hand-in-hand with its team to deliver a successful event.

As part of the contract, it will provide full project management, on-site event management and production for the event, as well as overseeing all health and safety requirements.

Chloe Dodgson, corporate communications manager at Honda, said: “Venues and Events showed the ability to take our initial ideas and develop them into a clear and exciting plan. The team has developed original ideas to create a unique experience for our attendees, whilst maintaining key principles.”
