POLICE are hunting for three people believed to have assaulted a man in his 40s.
The bank holiday attack left the 44-year-old with a head injury, cuts and bruises. He was treated in the Great Western Hospital after the early morning assault.
Officers believe that the man was hit between 3.45am and 4.15am on Monday, May 7. He had been walking along Cricklade Street in the direction of Drove Road.
Wiltshire Police has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
PC Darren Zerebecki said: "It is believed three people were involved in the assault - we are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen them running along Cricklade Street or Belle Vue Road in the early hours of the morning. This was Bank Holiday Monday so it is possible there were more people about than usual.
"Unfortunately, we do not have any descriptions of the offenders, but if you heard any kind of disorder in the area, please get in touch."
