THE organiser of the MFor Festival received an outpouring of support and kind words from well-wishers after suffering a mental health incident.

Graham Stobbs posted a distressing video on the festival's facebook page in which he announced that the event had been cancelled, apologised because he felt he'd let people down, and implied that he planned to take his own life.

He's struggled with PTSD after his military service and wanted to set up the family fun day to bring big-name musicians to Swindon and raise awareness of the mental health issues that veterans struggle with.

The video was later taken down and replaced with a brief message explaining that, thankfully, he'd been found safe and well.

Rachel Stear commented: "Let him know that thousands of people across Swindon care for him, even though we don't know him.

"I sincerely hope he gets the support he needs."

Her sentiment was echoed by dozens of other sympathetic supporters who were glad that Mr Stobbs is safe and hoped that he will receive all the support he needs.

His daughter Lucinda commented: "Thank you everyone, my dad is safe, thank you everyone who helped, share and commented.

"Iā€™m sure all the support means a lot to him.

"Us as a family are dealing with everything in our own way."

A spokesperson for the MFor Festival said: "We can confirm there was a mental health incident last night involving the organiser of the MFor Festival which occurred unexpectedly and without malice.

"As a result, the Mfor Festival to be held at Lydiard Park on Saturday July 28 is, sadly, cancelled.

"Any questions regarding ticket refunds or other business matters cannot be dealt with until the organising company Synister Music Events is able to operate and re-visit the situation with professional support. "Please direct any queries to questions@synistermusicevents.co.uk

"The organiser is unwell and we ā€“ his friends - are unable to give a timeline for his recovery.

"We urge everyone to consider the impact of PTSD on individuals and the mental health issues which arise from it."
