A SEX attacker struck in daylight on a residential street, police said.

The victim of the sexual assault in Freshbrook was left shaken.

Officers have released an image of the man they want to speak to in relation to the assault.

The woman, 40, was walking home alone on May 7 along an alleyway near Cottington Close when a man approached her from behind.

He is said to have grabbed the woman's bottom and put his hand up her top. The woman then ran back towards the Tesco supermarket.

The man is described as having olive skin, approximately 5 ft 9 inches tall, or medium build and around 30-years-old. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a light blue or grey formal shirt.

Appealing for witnesses, PC Ben Moore said: "We would like to ask that anyone who was in the area at just before 9pm on May 7 who may have seen the incident, or a man matching the description given, to get in touch.

"I'd also ask you to take a look at the e-fit we have produced. If this person looks familiar we'd like to hear from you.

"This incident took place on a lone woman on a bright spring evening in a residential area. It has left her feeling understandably shaken up."
