TEN in a Bar are performing a re-run of their anniversary show next weekend.

Let’s Celebrate is a special show marking the 25th anniversary of the close harmony group, based in Swindon's Old Town.

The singers, led by founder and artistic director Jill Hodge, will reprise the show on June 9 at Immanuel Church in Upham Road..

Martin Read, who recently worked with singer/songwriter Rob Richings providing backing vocals for the EP Halfway Up and the album Parkas and Boots - both of which have been played on national radio - is a stalwart of Ten In A Bar.

He said: "The show features a selection our favourite songs performed over the last quarter of a century. As well as singing a mixture of both classical and popular music we will also be performing a comedy sketch set in an A&E department - to the music of Les Miserables''

It was in 1992 that Jill pulled all the strands together of her love of music, drama and a sprinkling of humour to form Ten In A Bar, so named because there were originally ten singers. There are now more than 16.

“I am so very proud of TIAB and all the wonderful singers and musicians who have helped me to fulfil my dreams and aspirations,’’ said Jill. "With the freedom to choose whatever material I liked I quickly developed an identity for the group – I suppose you might now call this a brand. Popular music from the 1940s to the present day hit list was our niche.''

Tickets for Let's Celebrate are £8 and are available on the door.
