AN AFTER-SCHOOL club in Abbey Meads celebrated its Outstanding Ofsted report.

Inspectors visited the Big Adventure Club at Catherine Wayte Primary School in April and were very impressed with what they saw.

The club had previously received a Good result but the grade has now been bumped up after their most recent inspection.

Tracey Cook, director of the company that owns and operates the club, said: “We’re really pleased with this result, it shows that we have managed to raise our standards.

“This started small, but we’ve just grown and grown.

"The kids do a great variety of things at the club: sport, cooking, arts and crafts, talent shows, photography.

"In the summer, we celebrate our 25th anniversary, so this is a nice present.

"We work very closely with schools to run several morning and after-school clubs around Swindon."

The Big Adventure Club also offers clubs at Lydiard Park Academy and Shaw Ridge, Lethbridge, St Leonard's and Brookfield Primary Schools.

The Ofsted report praised all aspects of the Catherine Wayte club and noted how well-loved it was by parents, pupils and staff alike.

Inspector Kelly Sunderland said: “The inspirational providers and manager are extremely dedicated to providing outstanding care for children.

“All children are thoroughly engaged and motivated throughout the whole session.

“Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

“Children eagerly enter the after-school club and are excited to hear about the activities on offer.

“Parents highly praise staff and the amount of activities on offer.

“All children’s behaviour is exemplary.

“Older children support younger ones throughout the session and are extremely kind and considerate to one another."
