COURT: A wilful and persistent failure to comply with a community order earned Vincent Chuff a 10-week stay in prison.
Chuff, 34, was told he was being jailed because he stole DVDs valued at £70 from HMV in Regent Street on February 5 and another £60-worth from the same shop a week later while he was on a community order imposed in June last year and a suspended sentence dating back to November 2016.
He also took meat worth £65, and vodka valued at £54 from Morrisons, along with toiletries and bleach.
The defendant, of Stamford Close, Toothill had also failed to turn up to appointments with his case manager.
His suspended sentence, handed down for a charge of handling stolen goods, was activated.
COURT: Martin Gates was ordered to pay compensation for stealing ralph Lauren men’s fragrance gift sets from Boots in Swindon.
The 27-year-old, who gave a care of address in Hopkins Road, Devizes, pleaded guilty to the charge.
