NYTHE Community Centre is hosting a Great Get Together Event to combat loneliness in the community.
The scheme was inspired by the work of late MP Jo Cox who worked to combat the problem of loneliness in the UK. Her sister Kim Leadbeater has launched a nationwide campaign to get communities to open their doors and encourage conversation.
Katie Pullan, who is helping to organise the event, said: "We invite anyone local to come along. We will have an array of free games for all ages, with prizes! And for those who enjoy a friendly and free competition, hey are welcome to join our bake-off. All entries to be in by 13.00 please!"
Aside from finding out who the best baker is in the village, guests will have the chance to learn how to juggle on the day with help from an expert juggler. The event will take place between 12.30-16.00 pm on Friday June 22. All members of the public are welcome.
