CELEBRITY trainer Matt Fiddes has thrown his weight behind the local campaign Bring Back Oliver’s Smile.

Samuel May, from Swindon, started the fundraiser Bring Back Oliver’s to pay for hydrotherapies for young 5-year-old Oliver Johnson, from Didcot, who suffers from a rare type of brain inflammation.

After contacting Matt, Michael Jackson's former bodyguard and owner of the largest martial arts schools across the UK and Europe, he agreed to put on a one-hour training session to help meet the £50,000 target.

Samuel snapped up the session and met Matt at David Lloyds Gym in Swindon, telling the Adver after the: “My arms are bloody hurting. It was fantastic. He’s incredibly supportive of the campaign. He wants to meet Oliver which is nice.

Matt’s own son stopped breathing in 2017 and was rushed to hospital. Fortunately, his son made a full recovery.

Matt also shared live videos through his Facebook and Twitter, reaching nearly 230,000 followers through his twitter about Bring Back Oliver’s Smile.

“We’ve already had a couple of donations already. They’re using the hash tag and sharing it as well. It’s working and it’s getting big and people are more aware.

"He's invited me next week to do another sessions which is cool. He says he wants to carry on doing for nothing. He’s a lovely guy.”

Samuel will take part in a 25k sponsored walk today with family to raise awareness for the cause. More information about the campaign and how to donate can be found at www.bobfundraising.com.
