DETECTIVES are yet to identify the final member of a baby-faced trio of suspected robbers.

Last week, police issued an appeal for anyone who recognised the youthful gang to come forward.

They are suspected of being involved in four robberies that took place across Swindon in the early hours of June 3.

In the first, former Swindon Advertiser journalist Jamie Hill, 44, was hit over the head with a snooker ball stuffed into a sock. his wallet was taken.

Their second victim was chased down and assaulted around Ferndale Road and Cricklade Road, Gorse Hill. The young man’s wallet, cash and clothing were taken.

The third attack happened at 5.05am on Dorcan Way. The victim, a man in his 20s, was assaulted by a gang of youths. They tried to steal his phone but fled the scene empty handed.

The fourth incident happened at around 5.45am in Queen’s Drive, east Swindon, when a man in his 20s was assaulted by a group of youths. They tried to steal his phone but ended up fleeing the scene empty-handed.

Detectives issued CCTV images of three youngsters wanted in connection with the attacks. Two have been identified, but a third boy is still on the run.

Det Con Alex Mulley said: “These were frightening incidents for the victims and I’d ask anyone who can help identify him to please contact us. I’d also encourage him to take the initiative and come forward.”
