Hungry, and hot, shoppers looking for a cooling salad were disappointed this lunchtime if they went to the Morrisons supermarket in Dorcan.
The fridges and chillers in the giant store were having trouble just before noon - it means that the popular salad bar just by the main entrance and the cold deli counter were out of action.
And the fridges with milk and other cold diary produce had grey blinds drown down in attempt to keep some of the colder air in.
One shopper said: "I came in and hoped to get a box of salad for my lunch but there was nothing there. I asked a member of staff and he said the chilling unit was 'in trouble' and they were having to take cold items off sale.
"It's not really what you want in this heat. I wonder if it's the heat itself which has caused the problems."
Nobody from the Morrisons store in Eldene Drive was available to comment.
