SWINDON Robins have confirmed that this week’s postponed SGB Premiership clash against Leicester Lions will now take place on Monday, July 23.

The meeting, which will also be televised live by BT Sport, replaces the league fixture against Rye House, who have withdrew from the league earlier this month after financial difficulties.

Robins were due to take on the Lions at the Abbey Stadium tomorrow night, but that was called off due to a clash with England’s FIFA World Cup semi-final against Croatia.

The dates for outstanding Swindon home meetings against King’s Lynn Stars and Belle Vues Aces - whom Alun Rossiter’s side lost to 55-35 in the SGB Premiership in Manchester on Monday night - are expected to be confirmed later this week.
