If anyone deserves a birthday card, it’s Wyn Davison, who is fast approaching her 102nd birthday.

And Wyn’s nephew Ron Clark would like as many people as possible to pop one in the post for her.

Mrs Davison grew up and spent most of her life in the north east of England, by Mr Clark says there is a Swindon connection.

He said: “In the Second World War my aunt was in the Women’s RAF and she served in Wiltshire, although she can’t quite remember exactly where any more. She hurt her back after a while and was on office duties until she returned to the North East

“She’s always done a lot for other people and I just think it would be nice to get as many cards as we can from as many places as we can/. We’ve put something out on Facebook, and someone in Australia even said they wanted to send a card.”

If you’d like to send Mrs Davison your best wishes (and the Adver's is already in the post) address any cards to Wyn Davison, c/o 98 Rowan Avenue, Washington, Tyne and Wear, NE38 9AG, and Mr Clark will make sure take them to his aunt on July 22.

If you do send a card, please mention that you’re from Swindon or Wiltshire, as we’ll check back with Mr Clark later to see how many were sent from the area.
