PARENTS are facing a four-hour wait at the Build-A-Bear Workshop today.

The Outlet Centre shop is hosting its first Pay-Your-Age Day, where the customisable bears only cost the age of the child who will own it.

It's an offer which has caused quite a hulla-Baloo, as hundreds of customers have queued up for up to four hours to get their child a bargain bear.

Witnesses have reported seeing the queue stretch as far as Thorntons.

Charlotte Cobb visited the store with her two-year-old son Elijah.

She said: "It is great to see events like this in Swindon and the excitement on the kids faces is great to see.

"The staff have been brilliant, they took it all in their stride and they have been friendly, energetic and really helpful."

She added that the un-bear-able wait was worthwhile as the £16 toy that Elijah built only cost £2.

The MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet released an apology on behalf of the Workshop and stopped accepting new customers.

It said: "On behalf of Build-A-Bear we would like to apologise for the long queues today.

"The Pay-Your-Age event has far exceeded Build-A-Bear's expectations and as such they are unable to accept additional guests at this present time."
