FORENSICS investigators are at the scene of the fire that last night devastated a Pinehurst shop.
The police unit has been joined by specialist fire investigators from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
It comes after a fire ripped through the One Stop shop on Pinehurst circle on Thursday evening. 999 crews were called shortly after 7.30pm.
Group Manager Kathy Collis said this morning: “Swift actions of the initial fire crews saved the possessions of the families living either side of the One Stop and the livelihoods of the businesses.
“Crime scene investigators are here. We are just making sure it’s safe enough to do our investigations.”
The fire probe will rule out a number of potential causes of the fire, including arson.
Ms Collis praised shop staff in raising the alarm and evacuating the store: “They did exactly what we tell people to do: get out and stay out.”
