A TOTTENHAM man has been charged with murder after the hit-and-run death of a former soldier.
Ken Kiley, 75, died on Monday evening after he was hit in Woodhall Park on Sunday, July 8.
Dario Carboni, 24, from Tottenham, London, has been charged with murder, causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.
Carboni has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.
A 21-year-old man from Swindon, who was also arrested in connection with the incident, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The case is being handled by detectives from the Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team.
Det Insp Jim Taylor, who is leading the investigation, said this week: “My team are working tirelessly on this investigation which is making good progress.”
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run on the junction of Southernwood Drive and Westfield Way on Sunday, July 8, at 8.50pm should call police on 101.
