A LONDON man accused of the murder of a former soldier has appeared before magistrates.
Dario Carboni, 24, of Gospatrick Road, Tottenham, appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday morning charged with murder, causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.
He is accused of killing 75-year-old Ken Kiley, a former member of the Parachute Regiment, who died after being hit by a car on Southernwood Drive on Sunday, July 8.
Wearing a grey tracksuit, Italian-born Carboni spoke in court only to confirm his name, age and address.
Magistrates sent the case to Bristol Crown Court, remanding him in custody until his next court appearance. He is due before the Bristol court on Monday.
Carboni looked towards the public gallery, where members of Mr Kiley’s family were sat, as he was escorted out of the court.
