A YOUNG singer had her dreams come true when one of her idols turned their chair for her in an audition on The Voice Kids.

Phoebe Maddison, a 14-year-old from North Swindon, was ecstatic to see judge Pixie Lott watching her performance.

She hadn’t realised the button was pushed for her but when the song finished she couldn’t contain herself and began screaming and crying tears of joy.

Phoebe was vying for her place in the next round of the ITV1 talent show last night with a cover of With You from Ghost the Musical.

The young star said: “This means so much to me to have Pixie as my mentor. the path I want to follow is the same as the one she's been on

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and it is one of the best moments of my life.”

Phoebe was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was just four-years-old, and she began singing to try and raise money for people with the same condition.

Currently attend singing school Everybody Sing, in Cheney Manor Phoebe added: “One day I would love to be performing in the West End.”

Her proud parents Michelle and Antony watched backstage with her brother Harry and grandparents Madeline and Brian Plumb as she sang for the judges.

Phoebe is the second Swindon singer to make it through the auditions. On Saturday Lilia Slattery impressed all three judges enough to turn their chairs, but also chose Pixie.
