To mark the end of another successful RIAT at RAF Fairford, here is a second selection of vintage air tattoo images.
They include a remarkable handful from the 1993 event, at which a routine Russian aerobatics display turned to potential tragedy.
A mid-air collision between two aircraft at 250mph left the pilots with no option but to eject. Fortunately neither was badly hurt, and the aircraft came down far enough from spectators and other participants that none suffered anything worse than shock.
