POP star Peter Andre will headline a music festival at MoD Lyneham which will raise money for military charities.

The Mysterious Girl singer and TV personality will be joined by a host of other acts at the army base’s day-long non-profit CivPop Festival on Saturday, including Baby-D, Urban Cookie Collective, Rozalla, Junnk, Halo, and Firing Blanks.

As befits a music festival on a military base, the audience will also be entertained by Lyneham Military Wives’ Choir, and there will also be a funfair on-site.

Tickets cost £15 for over-16s, £10 for ages five-16, and £40 for a family of two adults and two children under 16.

Tickets for the event, which runs from 1.00pm to 11.00pm must be purchased in advance through.civpop.co.uk/.

Parking on site is £3 if booked in advance or £5 on the day, and there's a campsite near the event entrance.

On the same site, the REME Museum will be running its annual fete, with plenty of fun and games for children.

All profits from the CivPop Festival will go to support three charities: Julia’s House, SSAFA and the REME Charity.

Captain Jay Guthrie, of 8 Training Battalion REME, organised the event with volunteers from the battalion and CSE Events & Entertainment.

He said: “CivPop is set to be an amazing festival for all ages that will not only raise much needed funds for charity but also strengthen community engagement.

“We are proud to have support from a number of Wiltshire-based bands and pleased that Peter Andre is headlining the show.

“If you haven’t already bought your tickets, be sure do so now as limited numbers remain and I know you’ll have a fantastic time at CivPop.

“The CivPop Festival follows last June’s open day and musical Party in the Park at MOD Lyneham, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Army’s Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.

“As 2018 marks RAF100, the centenary year of the Royal Air Force, it is fitting that the CivPop Festival is taking place at the former RAF Lyneham.”
