THE legendary performer Sir Elton John is celebrated in a night of music and spectacle called The Rocket Man at the Wyvern Theatre on Friday.

Presented by Entertainers, The Rocket Man is a tribute to the English-born singer, pianist and composer, multi-Grammy award-winning legend and superstar.

The show combines breath-taking vocal and piano performances, flamboyant costumes, a dazzling light show - all accompanied by an outstanding band and backing vocals.

A treat for any fan of the enduring and iconic performer, The Rocket Man takes its audience on a musical journey, charting the rise to fame of one of the biggest selling artists of all time.

The multi-talented Elton, who has been singing, playing and recording since the 1960s, wrote the music for the musicals Lion King and Billy Elliot, and famously performed Candle in the Wind at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.

It is his chart-storming pop music that will be celebrated on Friday. Travel back in time and enjoy recreations of Elton John’s performances of hits such as Crocodile Rock, Philadelphia Freedom, Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting, Are You Ready for Love, I’m Still Standing, I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues, Tiny Dancer, Your Song and of course Rocket Man.
