July 20

Crop Circle Exhibition & Information Centre, 11am, Honeystreet Mill Cafe, Honeystreet, Pewsey. Free. 01672 851853. The restored multi-media exhibition features the key facts of the crop circle phenomenon and mixes it with stunning photography. The exhibition was curated by researchers Monique Klinkenbergh and Andreas Müller. Visitors can also enjoy cakes, ice-cream, sandwiches and salads.

The Great British Garden Party, 6.30pm, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxford. Ad £28, Annual Pass £25, Children £16.50, U5 Free. 01993 810530. Take a spoonful of sugar listening to storytime with Mary Poppins in the Secret Garden and come face to face with Britain’s very own Bond, James Bond.

Coate Water Railway, 11am, Coate Water Country Park, off Marlborough Road A4259, Swindon. £2 per ride no age limit. 07710 515 507. A miniature railway through the woods of Coate Water Country Park covering nearly a mile of dual gauge track at ground level. Ride on coaches suitable for all the family. There is a special coach that will take a wheelchair or mobility scooter and carer. On every weekend.

Secrets of Silk Wood Guided Walk, 2pm, Westonbirt The National Arboretum, (A433 three miles south east of Tetbury), Tetbury. Free after admission. 01842 814612. Take in the stunning seasonal sights of the ancient Silk Wood. Learn about the history and management of the breathtaking landscape as you explore the woodland, and ask questions of our experienced guides. Dogs on leads are welcome on this walk. On all summer.

Faringdon Folly Open Day, 11am, Faringdon Folly Tower and Woodland, Stanford Road, Faringdon. Adults £3, 11-16 years £1, under 11s free. 01367 241142. This 100ft tower is Faringdon’s icon and the last major folly to be built in England. It sits on Folly Hill, within a circular four acre woodland of Scots Pine and broadleaf trees, some more than 200 years old. www.faringdonfolly.org.uk Every weekend

July 22

Reservoir Raft-Race, 10am, Coate Water Country Park, Marlborough Road, Swindon. £35 per team, Free to watch. 01793 490150. Teams of five compete against each other (and the clock), to see who will be crowned the fastest raft-racer of 2018. They build a raft from scratch, with the materials provided, and navigate around the white water course on the lake.

National Open Garden Scheme, 1pm, Twigs Community Garden, Manor Garden Centre, Cheney Manor, Swindon. £3, children free. Delightful two acre community garden, created and maintained by volunteers.

Peppa Pig’s Adventure, 1pm, Wyvern Theatre, Theatre Square, Swindon. £18 - £20. 01793 524481. Peppa Pig and friends are back in a new live show. Join Peppa as she gets ready to go on a camping trip to the woods with George and her school friends, including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe.

Calne Bike Meet 2018, 10pm, Calne Town Centre, The Strand, Calne. Free. The Trench pays respect to the end of World War One. Look out for them camped out over the weekend. Well worth a visit to their camp, plus Tommy Und Jerry Group. Motorcycle clubs, stalls and traders. Then at 5pm we have the ride out, planned to ride through the town and into the surrounding towns and villages of Wiltshire.

July 29

Swindon Cycle Fest 2018, 10am, Swindon County Ground Athletics Track, County Road, Swindon. Free. 07508 038670. A free to attend festival to celebrate cycling in Swindon. There will be opportunities for all ages and abilities to try out different bikes and take part in a wide range of activities and bike rides. The event is organised entirely by volunteers from Swindon Cycle Campaign and Mitchell Cycles.

July 30
