COURT: A thief who stole an Xbox and games valued at £400 from another woman has been ordered to pay back the same amount in compensation to her victim.
Maria Messen, 43, of Broad Street, Swindon appeared before the town’s magistrates and admitted the charge.
She was instructed to pay the money back at £25 a month, along with another £85 towards prosecution costs.
COURT: Thief Neil Wilson found himself with a £160 bill for stealing a £10 case of beer from Tesco.
The 38-year-old of Briarswood Court, Liden pleaded guilty to the theft and was told to pay £10 compensation, an £80 fine, £40 court costs and a £30 contribution towards victim services.
COURT: Magistrates handed Daniel Bennett a £500 fine after he pleaded guilty to having 428 grams of cannabis in his possession.
Bennett, 31, of Cricklade Road, Highworth was also made the subject of a 12-month community order by the Swindon bench with up to 15 rehabilitation activity days and told to pay £85 towards victim services and the same in prosecution costs.
The cannabis and paraphernalia were ordered to be destroyed.
