A PENSIONER has died after collapsing near a Gorse Hill church.
Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.
South Western Ambulance Service said two ambulances and a rapid response paramedic vehicle were called to reports that a man had collapsed in an alleyway behind St Barnabas Church on Cricklade Road, at 9.30am on Wednesday morning. The Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter also responded to the emergency.
But the man, believed to be in his 90s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this time. A file will now be prepared for HM Coroner for Wiltshire.”
