A new Poundstretcher discount store will open in Swindon on Friday August 3.

The town's deputy mayor Councillor Kevin Parry will cut the ribbon on the new shop in Regent Street as the doors are thrown open at 10am

A spokesman for the chain says the company has invested £500,000 in the new shop and recruited 25 people for full-time and part-time jobs

And for the opening day only there are some bargains to be snapped up.

The first five customers could receive a double faux leather bed for £19.99, a saving of £80. The next 10 customers could buy a Hoover vacuum cleaner for £14.99 discounted from £69.99, and then the next 15 customers will be able to take home a glass TV stand for only £9.99 instead of £49.99 For the next 175 customers, a washable rug will be available for half price £4.99

Poundstretcher's area manager, David Arlett, said: “We are pleased to be opening a brand new store to the people of Swindon with loads of fantastic branded products, all at bargain prices.

“The team is working hard to deliver an outstanding shopping experience, great service, and an enjoyable shopping environment for all our new customers."
