LAST season's Toolstation League First Division champions Westbury United made a winning start to life in the Premier Division as they clinched a 3-1 success over Wellington at Meadow Lane.

Neil and Joe Kirkpatrick's side trailed to an early goal by Josh Wadham for the visitors before Jamie Jordan equalised before half-time.

Dan Kovacs' brace in the second period clinched the points as Wellington had two players sent off.

Rob Mallett's tenure at Bradford Town also got off to a fine start as they wrapped up a 2-0 victory over Cribbs at Trowbridge Road, Tyler Sibbeck and an own goal doing the damage against the visitors, who also had a man sent off.

Westbury host Shepton Mallet on Wednesday, with Bradford Town at home to Bitton (both 7.30pm).

In the First Division there was a 1-0 win for Corsham Town at Welton Rovers, Dan King firing home the winner, while Chippenham Park clinched the three points by the same scoreline at home to county rivals Warminster Town,

Matt Hudon's strike proved the match winner for Calne Town as they edged Bristol Telephones at Bremhill View.

But there was first-day disappointment for Devizes Town, who were thumped 4-0 at Cheddar, Sam King, Stephen Pennington, Reece Ferguson and Kristian Bell on target.

TJ Bohane marked his return to Hellenic League football with a hat-trick as Royal Wootton Bassett Town swamped Tuffley Rovers 6-1 in their Premier Division opener on Saturday.

Bradley Pagliaroli netted twice after Steve Yeardley had opened the scoring.

In Division One West, Pewsey Vale were beaten 4-0 at Easington Sports.

Devizes Town travel to Radstock Town in the Toolstation League First Division on Tuesday evening (7.30pm), while Calne Town host Warminster Town (7.45pm).

Royal Wootton Bassett Town host Fairford Town on Tuesday evening in the Hellenic League Premier Division.
