COURT: Magistrates banned a man from the roads for a year and instructed him to do 100 hours of unpaid work after he rode his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle dangerously on the M4.

Milan Gurung, 28, of Frobisher Drive, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared in the dock at Swindon. The bench ordered him to pay a total of £170 towards victim services and prosecution costs and made him the subject of a 12-month community order.

COURT: Shoplifter Katrina Thomas was given a 15-day electronic curfew by Swindon magistrates for stealing £100-worth of goods from supermarkets.

The 25-year-old of Colchester Close, Toothill, pleaded guilty to theft and a second charge of attempted theft– taking alcohol valued at £100 from Morrisons in Chippenham and attempting to steal products valued at almost £20 from Sainsbury’s.

She was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £40 court costs.

COURT: A man who assaulted a woman by spitting at her has been told he must do 60 hours of unpaid work.

Swindon magistrates also imposed a one-year restraining order banning Daniel Robertson, 28, of Thorney Park, Wroughton from having any contact with the victim apart from through a third party for court proceedings.

He was made the subject of a 12-month community order and told to pay £170 towards victim services and court costs.
