THE Crown Inn is hosting a family fun day on bank holiday weekend to raise money for charity.

All proceeds raised on the day will go to the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group and Phab Kids.

Both charities focus on supporting and enabling people with disabilities.

The Stratton pub will begin the event at noon on Saturday, August25.

There will be activities on the day including games and stalls, a barbecue, ice cream van, face painting, tombola and a raffle.

And there will be live music with a performance from local group Sister Sister.

Tanya Lewis, manager at the Crown Inn and the organiser of the event said: “This is going to be a fantastic day.

“There’s lots going on and we can’t wait for the bank holiday.

“We hope to raise a significant amount of money to help the two charities who work so hard to support the people who need it.”

She added: “It will definitely be a great occasion and we welcome everyone to join in.

“We’ll be posting each day more information about the fun day on our Facebook page.”

Local company Elite Stainless Fabrications has been heavily involved in supporting the fun day and will draw the winning ticket for their raffle of the special-edition 60-litre micro-brewery at the event.

Tickets for the raffle are still on sale and can be purchased at the cost of £5 each from the Crown Inn.
