XTC fans will be converging on Swindon once again to celebrate the band's music.

Music lovers will pack into 12 Bar in Westcott Place on Saturday, September 29 as XTC lead singer Andy Partridge's daughter Holly takes to the stage.

The 22-year-old SheBeats front-woman and bandmates Alice Otley on bass and drummer Tiff Wild will be playing their Sixties-inspired sound to the crowd.

They will be sharing the stage with the Fuzzy Warblers, who will be performing XTC hits.

This is the latest in a series of gigs which stretch back to 2003, when XTC tribute band the X-sTatiC became the focus of a resurgence of interest in XTC over the internet.

The X-sTatiC called it a day after a triumphant sell-out gig at the Furnace in Swindon, which included an appearance by XTC bass player Colin Moulding's son Lee on drums.

Bass player Ed Percival said: "It was the greatest gig of our lives for all the musicians involved.

"We felt a real connection to XTC, the fans and the band's families.

"I've been told I'm known as tribute dad' in the Moulding family."

Hailing from the London and following in the footsteps of X-sTatiC, The Fuzzy Warblers formed in 2004 as a heartfelt tribute to the original Swindon-based band, which named itself after Andy Partridge's series of home demos, The group has taken on the challenging task of performing many songs which XTC never performed live.

Ed added: "I know that we're going to have a great time. The last gig was so good, but this will be great in a different way."

The musician says that having Holly play at the gig will make the event all the more special.

He said: "I remember playing at Riff's in 2003 and meeting Holly as an enthusiastic fan.

"She seemed genuinely thrilled to hear her dad's songs live for the first time.

"It brings everything full circle that her band will be playing this time.

"I was blown away when I saw them play earlier this year and I know they will be a big hit with the XTC crowd."

The event runs from 7pm at The 12 Bar in Westcott Place, Swindon. Tickets are £10 in advance available from 01793 535713 or £12 on the door.
