A GLAMOUR model is hoping to follow in the footsteps of her idol Jordan and become a page three star.

Laura Allan, who lives in Shepherds Breach, Wootton Bassett, has entered The Sun newspaper's Page Three Idol competition and is aiming to come out on top.

The 19-year-old former Wootton Bassett School pupil is setting her sights high.

"I have wanted to do page three since I was about 15," she said.

"I'm quite photogenic and have always like posing for pictures.

"I was scouted at the Clothes Show a few years ago for having an unusual face which they liked and since then it gave me the confidence to want to go on."

Laura will have to compete with thousands of other girls who have submitted their picture to page3.com.

A panel of judges will then choose the top 24 girls, who will then go forward to a public vote next month.

The overall winner will have a photo shoot with The Sun and have pictures taken for a calendar. A luxury holiday and cash prize of £5,000 is also up for grabs.

"I hope people will vote for me if I get to the final," said Peacocks assistant manager.

"If I don't I'll have to keep trying different agencies.

"I really look up to Katie Price (Jordan). She's made so much money and done everything there is to do in the industry.

"I like the way she doesn't care what people think of her."

Mum Nicola, 39, sent in Laura's photos for the competition and thinks she has what it takes to reach the top.

"She's wanted to do this for some time now," said Nicola.

"I saw the advert in the paper and wanted her to go for it.

"I'm very proud of her for getting this far.

"It's difficult to start something like this in Swindon.

"But I think it would be great to see another Melinda Messenger in the area."

Who cares? Why is this news?

Good luck to her but, even with the strategically placed newspaper, isn't it a bit obvious she doesn't quite have the two main assets that saw Jordan's rise to fame?

ok, she's definitely not the most beautiful girl I've ever seen but I have seen a lot worse here commented as beautiful only because more famous for having a good press agent behind...

Have had a look on page 3 .com, but couldn't find Laura anywhere.
Would need to see more pictures before an invite could be issued

Doesn't fit the Swindon mould either, needs to put on 5 stone, start wearing cropped tops so we can enjoy her lardy fat rolls and needs to gain 2 kids, both different colours. No wonder she's looking to escape this deadbeat town, good luck to her.But I agree, its not really news is it? I think its sad that this paper thinks "ambition" is a girl wanting to get her knockers out in the paper, to make money.
Good luck to her, but I'd be suprised if she makes as much money as Jordan.

I have seen the page 3 photo on the internet which is dated the 3rd november. This is a fantastic picture and I think she is a stunner. Good Luck to this young girl if you have it then flaunt it!!When Jordan 1st started out she was not plastic and it is nice to see natural for once. Swindon is not the luckiest place for Good Looking people so we are lucky to have someone like this who wants to try and fulfill a dream. Well Done I hope she is SUCCESSFUL it will show the people whom have left negative comments but you cannot please everyone in this world!!

You and jammiedodger01 are obviously the same person, and one of the girl’s friends or family! Either that or you would be happy if Pat Butcher was your missus, As Simon Cowell would tell the bird’ your distinctly average’

More chance of following in the footsteps Thora Hird. I think she'd look barely average on a Stannah Stairlift

just saw the page 3 website and I don't like her because she has no waste line and I don't like her proportions.
I think that Emma the brunette is the most appropriate ;)

Arr the old Thora Hind chestnut, Compo used to love a good eyefull at dear Thora when she was upwardly mobile.

If theres no chance of winning, don't even try. This is a big non-feature on the advers behalf.

"I saw the advert in the paper and wanted her to go for it.

I read the TRADE-IT too. H40 free to collector.

do they pay thousands to the winner? if yes, by the time competition doesn't look particularly alluring, I might give it a go :)

Hmm...I'd be worried, personally, if my child wanted to be a page three girl at the age of 15. And I do agree, this is hardly news-worthy. I'd like to discover the secret to everlasting life - can I have a news story about it?

Good Luck young lady, we wish you well. Some of the comments you have been given are negative but take no notice as these are just but a few people with a opinion. Some people just like to be hurtful in this life unfortunetley that is the society we live in today. I am sure you know this anyway.

Hey, don't get me wrong, she's an attractive young lady (alright, she's older than me, but I think and act like someone from the early 1900's), but I can't help but think that there's something more, well, productive she could do with her life rather than give men cheap thrills on the page of some cheap red-top.

Just my two-penny'orth.

All I can say is fairplay to Laura for entering the competition, I hope she wins and that will probably shut up the people on here who have left negative comments. It's sad to think that she has been critised for wanting to follow her dream. Go girl go..... for it!!!!
