TWO post offices in south Swindon are facing closure, says an MP.
The Post Office was today scheduled to unveil plans for public consultation on a fresh round of branch closures.
And Anne Snelgrove has claimed that the Lawn branch, in Guildford Avenue, and the Westcott Place branch, in Faringdon Road, are among those whose futures are under threat.
The south Swindon MP is urging everyone likely to be affected by the closures to speak up - or risk losing them.
"These post offices are community assets," said Anne.
"I will be helping local people put solid arguments to the Post Office about why they should stay open.
"I have already met with Post Office Ltd and I have been told the plans are not set in stone at this stage.
"Changes can be made - if the arguments are good enough."
Anyone who wants to contribute to the public consultation has until the middle of January to do so.
