THREE people were hospitalised when a police car, on an emergency call, was involved in a collision with a bus.

Police officers were responding to an incident when the collision occurred on the Queens Drive junction with Upham Road, just after 10.30pm yesterday.

The three people in the police vehicle were treated by paramedics before being taken to the Great Western Hospital.

A police observer, travelling in the police car, is still in hospital being treated for several fractures and possible broken bones - mainly in the arms and hips.

The driver of the police vehicle was discharged from hospital last night. A female colleague was kept under observation until this morning, suffering from concussion.

The driver of the Thamesdown bus and all eight passengers were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Witnesses have been interviewed but police are appealing for anyone else with information to call 0845 408 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
