FOUR post offices are to close in Swindon.
Post Office Ltd has confirmed that post offices at Westcott Place, Lydiard Millicent, Lawns and Cheney Manor will close in April.
The news will come as a blow to campaigners in Lawn and Cheney Manor who had fought the proposed closures.
The Adver learnt yesterday ahead of the official announcement that both post offices faced the chop.
Cheney Manor Road postmaster Mohammed Choudhary said the decision meant five people would lose their jobs.
"I feel very sorry about the situation," he said.
"It just seems like in spite of all the support and backing we have had from everyone the Post Office don't really care.
"It feels like they haven't bothered with the views of local people."
