ONE couple had more reason than most to celebrate at the Advertiser-sponsored Wiltshire Business of the Year awards, despite finishing runners-up.
For Angela Lambert and Tony Davies, of Marlborough-based company Art Meets Matter, made a special announcement just before the chimes struck midnight - their engagement.
Angela had used the Leap Year date to make the couple's union permanent by proposing to Tony.
She gave Tony a silver love heart.
On one side it read: I Love You and on the other it said: Marry Me.
During the awards Tony made the announcement that Angela had proposed to him to loud cheers and applause from the audience.
"How could I refuse?" he said. "It was just so beautiful."
The couple have been together for 25 years and Angela reckoned it was about time that they made it official.
Regrettably, Art Meets Matter had to be content with just second place in the Entrepreneur category of the awards.
