Dancing On Ice has just come off our TV screens after wowing audiences in a third series, which saw ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw secure a shock victory grasping it from Hollyoaks' actor Chris Fountain's hands in the final performances.

Each year when the stars take to the rink for Dancing On Ice, quotes flood into the press about how both the men and women love their new figures as a result of the gruelling skating schedules which are often combined with standard work commitments.

With outfits that get skimpier by the week - and it's the same for the men too - the stars must be grateful they look so good.

This year's winner, Suzanne Shaw certainly wasted no time in taking advantage of her toned, yet curvy, figure and signed up for a lingerie modelling deal with Ultimo boss Michelle Mone's Michelle for George' underwear range at Asda.

"I was absolutely thrilled when Michelle Mone asked me to model for her Michelle for George' brand available at Asda,'' said Suzanne..

"I thought I'd be really nervous modelling for the photos but I feel so much fitter and more comfortable with my body after all the ice skating that I loved it.

"And as a mum it's great to be given the opportunity to model lingerie as all mothers should feel confident and sexy!"

Another competitor this year was Linda Lusardi, the 1980s Page 3 girl turned Emmerdale actress who on the year of her 50th birthday rediscovered the body-confidence which made her famous.

Linda, 49, said her ice training made her thinner than she was in her modelling days, when she measured up as a size eight.

She said: "Before the show, I was a size ten or 12, but this week I bought a pair of size eight trousers and they were too big.

"When I was 18 and modelling, I was only a size eight so I was gobsmacked - everything doesn't wobble any more."

The women's outfits included all in one body suits and the shortest of short skirts combined with backless and low-cut tops.

And the men's outfits could be just as revealing, with skin tight shirts and high-waisted trousers . . . never mind the jock straps!

Series runner-up Chris Fountain, Justin Burton in Hollyoaks, was a favourite with the ladies from week one with his already-toned torso, but that did not mean he didn't take time out to enjoy the benefits of his partnership with professional skater Frankie Poultney.

"Skater's bum is brilliant, it's really good," he said.

"It's the way it comes down and then just sticks out at the back - it's great to look at!"

Pop Idol runner up, Gareth Gates, joined in the skating frenzy this year to come in fourth place on the ice, and he admits skating did wonders for his body - but he hasn't been to the gym since being booted off the show. The former Pop Idol claimed that although his body is "ripped" and "nicely muscular", he is currently skipping regular gym visits.

"I was going to the gym and got really addicted to it. I did look massive, though and didn't really like it. I haven't really been to the gym since," he is reported to have said. "Far from saying I looked sexy in the outfits Suzanne (his fiance Suzanne Mole) and my mates would always tease me for the way I looked."
