A TEENAGER has been jailed for eight years for the hammer attack on Henry Webster.
Judge Carol Hagen said Wasif Khan was responsible for the actual hammer attack on the former Ridgeway pupil, which left him with brain damage.
Speaking at Bristol Crown Court this afternoon, Judge Hagen said: "Looking at the evidence over the course of the two trials I am in no doubt that the person who had the hammer was Wasif Khan."
The 18-year-old will serve his time in a young offenders' institution as will Amjad Qazi, who was given a 12-month sentence.
Both teenagers were found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent at the first trial earlier this year.
Roubel Meah, has also been sent to a young offenders' institution for two and a half years after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit actual bodily harm following the second trial.
Mahbub Ali, Kamran Khan and Bilal Yakub were all given 12-month sentences, suspended for two years, after being found guilty in the second trial of the same offence, while Aqduss Rauf was handed a 18-month jail sentence.
They were all ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months as part of their punishment.
Faran Yaseen, who pleaded guilty to a charge of violent disorder before the second trial started, was sentenced to eight months in a young offenders' institution.
