Police in plea for witnesses
11:20pm Monday 12th May 2008
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an incident in Abbey Meads.
It happened at 4.50pm yesterday on the footpath between Chatsworth Road, Abbey Meads, and the Manor Farm pub.
A 29-year-old woman was walking alone towards the North Orbital Shopping Centre when a man approached her.
He grabbed her and ran away when a member of the public appeared.
He is described as being in his 40s, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 9ins, of thin build, with a beard.
He was wearing a bright red sweatshirt over a green hooded top. He was also wearing a baggy, blue tracksuit bottoms.
