POLICE have charged a 59-year-old man with attempted child abduction.
The charges were brought against the man, said to be from the local area, last night after a number of incidents in Eldene last weekend.
Detective Chief Inspector Bob Hamlin said the charge against the man related to an incident which occured between 8.30am and 9am on Friday, May 16.
"Wiltshire Police would like to continue to encourage the excellent co-operation that has been received to date from the community," he said.
"Anyone with any information about these incidents should continue to come forward. We still retain an open mind as to the incidents which occured.
"We would like to reassure the community of Swindon that Wiltshire is still one of the safest counties in which to live and work.
"And with half term apporoaching we would like to remind parents and residents to remain vigilant and help us, Wiltshire Police, keep the county safe."
The man charged by police will appear before Swindon magistrates this morning.
An update will be posted later today.
