Firefighters were called into action on Saturday evening after a vehicle caught fire near Swindon.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at around 4:50pm after a Ford Focus caught fire by the Commonhead Roundabout.

The glass of the vehicle was completely smashed with the bonnet also up.

Wiltshire Police was also called to the scene to help direct traffic around the scene, whilst the incident was being dealt with.

One of the lanes on the A4259 was closed, albeit a very small section.

Two police cars were in attendance, when our reporter went to the scene.

Recovery of the vehicle was also about to get underway.

At present it is unclear what caused the fire or if there were any injuries.

Both Wiltshire Police and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for comment.
