MISS Swindon has swapped her sash for a tache' this week to encourage men to get growing for this year's Everyman TacheBack campaign.

Rebecca Cole is supporting the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign's TacheBack fundraiser ahead of tomorrow's Miss England final.

The 23-year-old from Stratton is encouraging men to grow sponsored moustaches throughout September, as part of the Miss England competition.

But for Rebecca the campaign has a personal significance.

When she was just 11 years old her world was full of chemotherapy and hushed voices as dad Graham was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Now 46, Graham is fighting fit but Rebecca says male pride could kill others.

"It seems like men find it embarrassing but I just think, what would they prefer, 10 minutes of embarrassment getting a doctor to check it out or a life cut short?

"My dad is here today and he's great but so many others need to make sure they check themselves regularly."

Rebecca - who donned a moustache herself to support the campaign - said: "It takes just a few minutes to check yourself or get your girlfriend or wife to do it - whatever, just don't let male pride ruin your life."

This year's TacheBack target has been set at £300,000 which if reached will bring the campaign total to £1m since it started six years ago.

TacheBack funds raised will go towards vital research into prostate and testicular cancer, which affect around 37,000 men every year in the UK.

Krista Eleftheriou from the Everyman Campaign, said: "The Miss England girls are brilliant spokespeople for the campaign.

"If anyone can get British men to pay attention it's 50 of the most beautiful girls in the country."

Rebecca added: "If men get involved they may gain more than just some facial fuzz. All us girls like a manly man "Raising some money for a charity like Everyman will help to get the ladies paying attention too!"

To sign up to take part in TacheBack either individually or as part of a group register online at www.tacheback.com or call 0800 731 9468 and grow a tache.

Rebecca will go up against 50 fellow beauties in her quest to be crowned Miss England at Troxy theatre in East London tomorrow night.

The Miss England final will see competitors whittled down from 50 to 20 and then to the top five.

The overall winner will then be selected. But Rebecca can help her cause by getting as many people as possible to vote for her in the run-up to the final.
