Police name car crash victim

POLICE have named a woman who died in a road traffic accident in Chesham.

Kathleen Mason, of Chartridge Lane, Chesham, died after her blue Fiesta was in collision with a white Volkswagen van on Monday.

The smash happened at about 1.20pm on Chartridge Lane near to the Chartridge Conference Centre.

The 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination showed that she had died from injuries consistent with a road traffic accident.

An inquest into the her death was due to be opened and adjourned yesterday.

The 41-year-old male driver of the van was rushed to Wycombe Hospital suffering from shock.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the accident.
