HOURS on court have paid off for Lawn netball players.

The super-fit girls have got their kit off in a calendar to raise money for the club and charity.

Twelve of the girls have posed in erotic underwear in different settings.

The January picture of centre player Nikki Carvey, 30, is a steamy shot of her in skimpy black underwear in a shower.

Nikki was responsible for the idea and helped plan the different poses for each month.

She said: “It was extremely strange as none of us have done anything like this before. It was a bit nerve wracking.

“I had a plan in mind but it has turned out more professional than I hoped.

“All the girls were stunned when they saw the final pictures. We are amazed by them.”

Nikki had to persuade some team members who were hesitant at first to pose for the Timmy Woo shots.

“I had to beg the girls to do it but when they had their shots they thoroughly enjoyed it,” she said.

Few people have seen the pictures, including the men in their lives.

“It will be a surprise for them,” said Nikki.

The team is hosting a launch party on September 12 with DJ Spoony when the pictures will be unveiled.

Proceeds from the £10 calendar sales will go towards the Prospect Hospice and Breast Cancer care as well as the club.

Wing defender Alex Leonard, 33, wore lingerie complete with suspenders for her shoot. She said: “It was so much fun. I had the suspenders, the stilettos, the whole lot.

“I am not used to exposing myself that much but the underwear was so pretty.”

Alex’s mum Christine Long, 64, is terminally ill with cancer so Alex wanted to help raise money for Prospect.

“Prospect can do wonderful things and the nurses look after her on a regular basis,” she said.

Lawn Netball Club chairman Eileen Witts said: “The calendar has been very nicely done. It is not just a glamour calendar. I think it shows the lovely athletic figures of the girls in a very tasteful way.”

Lingerie firm Triumph provided the underwear for the shots, and sponsor Next Generation health club provided the setting.

The calendar goes on sale on September 15. To order a copy email Nikki.Carvey @pertemps.co.uk.
