THE WINNER of a competition to name a Swindon restaurant has been announced.

Julie Redgewell from Grange Drive in Stratton claimed the top prize of £300 cash.

The 53-year-old mum-of-two entered with 243 other hopefuls for their chance to name the new Chinese restaurant in Victoria Road, Old Town.

It is due to open in December under the name Way 2 Eat.

“It feels great to win the money,” said Julie. “We can have a nice family weekend away with it.”

Holton Law from Wootton Bassett, the owner of the restaurant, was pleased with the new restaurant’s name.

He said: “I’m happy. It’s quite catchy and a good name.

“I’ve 28 years’ experience in the Chinese food market and really want to make a success of this restaurant.

“I’ve lived in Swindon more than 20 years and I know the area very well.

“My restaurant will offer good quality food and I hope everyone can visit us in the near future.”

Mr Law is offering a 20 per cent discount card to everyone who entered the competition.

To claim a discount card all you need to do is go along to the new restaurant when it opens in December and mention the name you suggested in the competition in exchange for you discount card.

The card will then be valid for the next two years.
