NEW owners of a Swindon pub have started Easter early with a larger than life fundraiser.

To celebrate the reopening, new owners of the Queensfield pub, in Queensfield, John and Mandy Doyle are hosting an ongoing raffle to win a four and a half foot high belgian chocolate easter egg in aid of Wroughton’s Prospect Hospice.

The final draw will be on Saturday, April 11.

A further hospice fundraiser takes place on Easter Monday between 11am and 5pm with a variety of activities including rides for children, trampolining, a bouncy castle and other stalls alongside Irish dancers, a tae kwon do exhibition and a pig roast.

The event is free, but there will be a charge on the rides and some of the other activities with proceeds going to charity.

Landlord Mr Doyle said the pub had been closed and boarded up for some time before he and his wife refurbished it over the last seven weeks.
