I have signed up for the 'Midnight Ridgeway Walk' - a 20 mile hike through the night to help raise money for an excellent local charity. It starts at Avebury and finishes at Bishopstone!

Over the years I've taken part in various events for local and national charities - the British Heart Foundation, Marie Curie Cancer Care and CALM, the Swindon based Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Movement. These events have ranged from Half Marathons, a 1.5mile distance swim and last summer 100 pool lengths for Swimathon.

This year, I'm taking part with Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Justin Tomlinson, in a 20mile walk for the Swindon Therapy Centre. They serve the MS Community in and around Swindon, and are here to provide therapies, support, advice and information for people with MS, their families and carers.

The therapies offered by the Centre are a major contribution to the fight against MS. Not only does the group offer support, but also practical solutions to problems and help with day to day living.

In 2008 the Centre started treating other conditions, such as Strokes, Parkinsons Disease, as well as children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and brain injuries, as all these conditions can benefit from the oxygen therapy, physiotherapy and other therapies we offer.

Through a huge amount of fund-raising and donations they have been able to secure a fantastic new centre - allowing them extend their services. They still need to raise £200k to cover the costs of additional equipment which can make a real difference to their users.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Swindon Therapy Centre For Multiple Sclerosis gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now, it will be really appreciated by so many people.
