A STRIP club owner was left fuming after almost £7,000 was stolen from his premises.
Dave Broome, owner of Foxies X-treme in Theatre Square, in Swindon’s town centre, said he was gutted after a bag full of cash was snatched on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Broome said the money – £6,936.30 in takings, cash floats for tills and staff wages – was stolen at about 12.50pm.
He said: “I am very angry. I was absolutely gutted when I found out – I felt sick.
“We have been doing improvements to the venue for the past three years and to suddenly have all this taken from us is frustrating.
“It has severely affected us – the insurance doesn’t cover it. It will take a long time to get over it.”
Mr Broome said he had fitted new coded locks on the doors of his dancers changing rooms and would be reviewing security arrangements in the 400 capacity venue following the theft.
He said he had never suffered any similar incidents in the nine years he has been running the venue, which employs up to 25 pole dancers a night.
Mr Broome said: “It is constantly in the back of my mind all the time.
“We can never make that money back. It was an invasion of our space – an invasion of everything.
“The girls were all sorry and quite shocked.
“Whoever did this deserves punishing – he has severely messed our business about.”
Mr Broome has been interviewed by police and has submitted CCTV footage from a range of cameras inside the club to officers.
He added: “I am quite optimistic they may catch him.”
